Lagos AIDS Walk is a 10km awareness walk being organized by Biire Child and Maternal health Foundation (a nonprofit community-based health organization which provides comprehensive and accessible health care to those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS).

According to the chief coordinator of the program, Mr. Dare Ajayi, ‘the walk is a 10km walk scheduled to hold on the 26th of November 2011 with the primary objective of raising awareness about existing laws against discrimination and stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS’.

He highlighted that ‘the event is targeted at the general public, people living with HIV/AIDS(PLWHA), government, corporate organizations amongst others.’
He further stated that ‘Lagos AIDS walk is in its maiden edition and it has chosen three grand marshals ( former governor of Lagos state; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, actress Funke Akindele, and renowned Pastor Ituah Ighodalo) to show the event is realiseable’.
Mr Dare said disclosed that ‘although the Lagos state government is the events major partner, there are however a handful of other organizations that are willing to ensure that the event is a success.’
